“Lauren was absolutely amazing as my doula. From the first time we met and discussed my birth preferences, I felt heard and cared for. She spent time listening to me and shared her knowledge. “We LOVE Lauren! I was sure I wanted a doula and researched quite a bit to find the right doula for us!! After my first meeting with Lauren I knew she was going to be an amazing help to me and my husband - as first time parents, we weren't confident on basically anything, and she walked us through every phase of pregnancy and addressed every single question or concern we had. My labor went very quickly and Lauren was there at 4am holding my hand and making sure everything went as smoothly as possible. After my son was born, she stayed for a few hours and helped me and my husband get settled/process and assist with nursing. Seriously couldn't have done it without her!!! “When I found out I was pregnant and decided I wanted to have a natural hospital birth, I decided to hire a doula to increase my chances of an unmedicated birth. Having known a couple of friends who had Lauren on their birth team, she was the first doula I reached out to and seemed to be a good fit. What my husband and I didn’t realize at the time was just how essential Lauren would be on our team. Not only did Lauren provide such helpful guidance and resources throughout my pregnancy, she gave me the encouragement and support I needed to achieve the natural hospital birth I had prayed for. “I didn’t even know what a doula really was when I first met Lauren, but I quickly understood why my close friend said she was a must. She met with me and my husband in our home before labor, preparing us mentally and physically as well as helping him feel confident knowing how to best support me. On delivery day, she was incredible—intuitive, hands-on and always one step ahead (even of the MDs). She was my steady voice when I doubted myself and helped make my birth plan a reality. “Writing a review for Lauren is next to impossible and I’ll tell you why…there aren’t enough adequate words to describe Lauren and her gifts as a doula. I have searched for the words for weeks now to write this review and nothing seems good enough to put down. Lauren is such an exceptional person with an amazing gift to connect to others. She is kind, loving, knowledgeable, genuine, and so many other things. She is calming and unhurried. She is so knowledgeable about the birthing process and our bodies and how they work. She cares from day 1 and encourages you well into postpartum. My previous 2 kids were c-sections and I had a dream with my third and Lauren never once doubted that dream. So many others did but not her. She listened to every fear I had, every concern, every awful joke my husband made and smiled the whole time. She is an absolute light and joy. She never wavered during my labor, she never let up, she never let me give up. Through the first few weeks of postpartum, she checked on me the most. Again listening to every concern I had or about how exhausted I was or how worried I was. She never once invalidated how I felt. Lauren is the very hands and feet of Jesus in the work that she does. “Adding Lauren to my birth team was the best decision I could have made… I was taking classes for the Bradley Method, and while they helped me understand the process my body was about to go through, Lauren was instrumental in ensuring the labor and delivery process went as smoothly as possible. My hospital had a horrific administrative mix-up and had 3 charts open for me at once, and an L&D nurse who was sweet but could not readily identify my stages of labor (e.g., contractions, pushing) - Lauren took the reins with ease. I have very little memories of my L&D nurse’s involvement, but am well aware of the impact Lauren had - from coaching my husband to be involved in my unmedicated pain management, helping me get into different positions, and working with my husband to communicate with the nurses and doctors, to making the room more festive with peppermint scents and lights just so I could feel a bit more at ease (December baby). “Lauren was SUCH a blessing during my husband and I’s first birth experience. She was easygoing, genuine, and trustworthy from the beginning. She helped us make a birth plan and was incredibly receptive to what our hopes and dreams were. Of course, no birth goes to plan, and we found out our sweet baby was breech at our 38 week visit.
